REVIEW: Brutal Discoveries – Kasey Millstead

brutal discoveriesTitle: Brutal Discoveries
Author: Kasey Millstead
Series: standalone
Genre: erotic romantic drama
Rating: ****

I very much enjoyed this. It was compelling, vastly interesting and one of those books which is easy and wonderful to consume. It was a unique storyline, told mainly from the POV from Scarlett, but with aspects from a figure who is not her romantic interest, and a pretty twisted individual. Immediately, this was something that engrossed me further into the story.

The plot twist was totally unexpected, and really added to the depth of this novel, despite a slight lack of emotional investment. I also very much enjoyed the direction and strength of the relationship between Scarlett and Aden, apart from one angsty issue which felt a little forced to me. The detail of the everyday activities and work just added to the realism of the story, rather than the focus completely being on the romance.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this and it was a breath of fresh air in the romance genre. Highly recommended.
