A powerful and at times devastating story

This is a shocking and beautifully written romance which takes you on a dark journey full of abuse , death and destruction all in the name of revenge, retribution and love….. Emmalyn and Kodah are both dealing separately with the aftermath of childhood abuse, freedom from captivity and the fall out from their pasts which is destined to bring them back together again in the present day….

The author has created a dark and gritty world with a host of, dysfunctional characters forever impaired by their own evil deeds or the sins of others…Emmalyn is a light in this menacing world strong and loving surrounded by a group of men focused on ensuring her safety and future peace but there are still horrors from the past lurking in the shadows and the narrative which is told from various character perspectives tells a powerful and at times devastating story of the events that unfold…

This is the second and concluding book recounting Emmalyn’s and Kodah’s story…. the warning is there for all to see; their tale is not a happy one and their experiences are dark and at times it makes uncomfortable reading…but ultimately this is a bittersweet love story of two damaged hearts and I was completely caught up in their fight for a happy ever after…This book was reviewed for Summer’s Eve Reads…
