Kingston by Dani Rene

Kingston by Dani René – Erotic Romance

I am arrogant. Insatiable. A single father.
I desire things that would make most people blush.
Normally, I find outlets that allow me to free the sexual beast living within and play to my heart’s content.
And when my voluptuous, innocent assistant starts starving me after a little taste, I decide I’ll let my inner animal feed—on her.
Trouble is, once I have her, I can’t let her go, and that makes things complicated.
My name is Levi Kingston.
I am a dirty, ravenous, greedy man.
People may detest my kinks, but it doesn’t stop them from wanting me.

Loving this series…

This is the second in the Four Fathers series, which follows the lives, lays and loves of four business partners and friends…

Levi Kingston is a self confessed ‘player’, he believes women are there for his pleasure and his kinks. But, Levi is far more complex than he appears…..history has stolen his compassion… he has no time for his son, let alone a female complication..and Kristyn is a beautiful and tempting complication: his assistant by day and something else at night….

The points of view of both the main characters are provided, which gives a welcome insight into the inner conflicts that the two are facing; the relationship between them is complicated and fragile….which only time, and a few reality checks, has the potential to change..

I am really loving this series, although each story has a different penmanship, the transition from the first book to this one is seamless: roll on the stories of the next two single fathers and their own brand of kinks and romance…

Say You Won’t Let Go by Corinne Michaels

Emily Young had two goals in her life:
1. Make it big in country music.
2. Get the hell out of Bell Buckle.

She was doing it. She was on her way, until Cooper Townsend landed backstage at her show in Dallas.

This gorgeous, rugged, man of few words was one cowboy she couldn’t afford to let distract her. But with his slow smile and rough hands, she just couldn’t keep away.

With outside forces conspiring against them, Cooper hires the McKay-Taggart team to protect her. Emily refuses to let Cooper get hurt because of her. All she wants is to hold onto him, but she knows the right thing to do is to let go . . .

A singer and a cowboy…

Well, I have to be completely up front here and say that I am completely addicted to the Masters and Mercenaries series….so imagine my utter delight when I discover that there is to be a crossover collection with a group of best selling authors and their respective worlds…

Say You Won’t is written by a new to me author although I have had her books on my TBR list for some time, now…. but it mattered not that I had no insight into her world because this book is a standalone novella…

Country and western singer, Emily, meets gorgeous hunk of a cowboy, Cooper; the chemistry can not be denied, but unfortunately their lifestyle and ambitions are too disparate to change or ignore …..however, when a dangerous threat comes to light, Cooper feels a need to protect Emily and when there is trouble on the horizon then ‘who are you going to call?’ McKay/Taggart security, of course…and that is where this book was a little disappointing for me because I had hoped that the link with my M and M heroes would be a bit more central to the story…..

That being said the characters were believable and had depth, despite the length of the book, and I found the story both thrilling and hot… it kept me entertained throughout and I am now going to delve into the next book in the collection..

His To Protect by Carly Phillips

Talia Shaw has spent her adult life working as a scientist for a big pharmaceutical company. She’s focused on saving lives, not living life. When her lab is broken into and it’s clear someone is after the top secret formula she’s working on, she turns to the one man she can trust. The same irresistible man she turned away years earlier because she was too young and naive to believe a sexy guy like Shane Landon could want her.

Shane Landon’s bodyguard work for McKay-Taggart is the one thing that brings him satisfaction in his life. Relationships come in second to the job. Always. Then little brainiac Talia Shaw shows up in his backyard, frightened and on the run, and his world is turned upside down. And not just because she’s found him naked in his outdoor shower, either.

With Talia’s life in danger, Shane has to get her out of town and to her eccentric, hermit mentor who has the final piece of the formula she’s been working on, while keeping her safe from the men who are after her. Guarding Talia’s body certainly isn’t any hardship, but he never expects to fall hard and fast for his best friend’s little sister and the only woman who’s ever really gotten under his skin.

Interesting characters and plenty of pace

The Lexi Blake crossover collection is really shaping up to be a thrilling series; this novella instalment is by an author I am unfamiliar with, but I plan to rectify that was packed full of interesting characters and plenty of pace…

Shane is an alpha protector bodyguard and his main focus is the gorgeous, ‘brainiac’ Talia; a scientist on the run….I loved these two main characters and their relationship, which comes with a second chance romance label…As an extra special treat, for Masters and Mercenaries fans, characters from McKay/Taggart make an appearance ..

This was one of those short stories that felt like a full length novel because so much happens and there are no wasted moments..there is also a satisfying epilogue as an added bonus…

The World’s Worst Boyfriend by Erika Kelly

From award-winning author Erika Kelly comes her brand new, smoking hot series about four elite athlete brothers raised in the Tetons by their eccentric, billionaire dad and uncle.

Six years ago Fin Bowie made a decision that cost him the love of his life. Now his ex is coming back to town for her brother’s wedding, and he can finally make things right. Except, right before the event, a text he sent goes viral. Overnight, he becomes an international meme. And it’s hard to win your woman back when the whole world’s calling you The World’s Worst Boyfriend.

The last thing on Calliope Bell’s mind is getting back with Fin. Not when her life’s just gone sideways, forcing her to spend the summer in her hometown. She can’t be away from the New York art world this long, so she comes up with the idea to turn the hottest pop culture event of the moment into a museum exhibition.

The two have every intention of avoiding each other—until the county judge sentences Fin to community service…helping her exploit the meme he’s trying to make go away.

When a misunderstood text has the world believing you’re the “worlds worst boyfriend” there’s no way you’re going to get back together with the love of your life. Especially as she’s moved on with her heart and her life. Or has she?

Callie Bell moved away from her small town home and moved on to bigger and better things in New York. When her brothers wedding brings her back home, she can’t help but be on guard from Fin Bowie. The boy who knows her better than she knows herself… but she can’t let herself fall into that trap again. Not after last time.

Callie and Fin’s story is one that will hit the heart of anyone who has ever been hurt before, and for anyone who’s been given a second chance at love. So far, we have our happy ending but be aware of a crazy cliff hanger that will have you gasping for book two!

Justify Me by J. Kenner

McKay-Taggart operative Riley Blade has no intention of returning to Los Angeles after his brief stint as a consultant on mega-star Lyle Tarpin’s latest action flick. Not even for Natasha Black, Tarpin’s sexy personal assistant who’d gotten under his skin. Why would he, when Tasha made it absolutely clear that—attraction or not—she wasn’t interested in a fling, much less a relationship.

But when Riley learns that someone is stalking her, he races to her side. Determined to not only protect her, but to convince her that—no matter what has hurt her in the past—he’s not only going to fight for her, he’s going to win her heart. Forever.

Totally engaging …

This crossover story is written by one of my favorite authors and brings together two of my favorite worlds: Stark International and Masters and Mercenaries… Riley is a McKay/Taggart operative and Natasha is a personal assistant with a stalker problem…

This is another short read but the two MCs know each other so the instalust element, which can make the relationship seem unlikely, was avoided… in actual fact this was a compelling story which packed in both a thrilling plot and an erotic love story…. there are secrets to be revealed and mysteries to be solved and I was totally engaged throughout..

I presume that part of the reason for this collection is to showcase the writings of authors to a new readership and, if that is the case, from my perspective it has proved most successful… I have really enjoyed discovering new authors and gaining an initial insight into their series, and I have even dowloaded some of their books; in addition, Justify Me is written in such an engaging and easy to read style that it has reminded why I love this particular author’s books so much and has encouraged me to revisit her series’ again…this was an entertaining quick 4.5 stars read with the added bonus of managing to squeeze in an epilogue to tie everything up.. ….

Remy Guidry doesn’t do relationships. He tried the marriage thing once, back in Louisiana, and learned the hard way that all he really needs in life is a cold beer, some good friends, and the occasional hookup. His job as a bodyguard with McKay-Taggart gives him purpose and lovely perks, like access to Sanctum. The last thing he needs in his life is a woman with stars in her eyes and babies in her future.

Lisa Daley’s life is finally going in the right direction. She has finally graduated from college after years of putting herself through school. She’s got a new job at an accounting firm and she’s finished her Sanctum training. Finally on her own and having fun, her life seems pretty perfect. Except she’s lonely and the one man she wants won’t give her a second look.

There is one other little glitch. Apparently, her new firm is really a front for the mob and now they want her dead. Assassins can really ruin a fun girls’ night out. Suddenly strapped to the very same six-foot-five-inch hunk of a bodyguard who makes her heart pound, Lisa can’t decide if this situation is a blessing or a curse.

As the mob closes in, Remy takes his tempting new charge back to the safest place he knows—his home in the bayou. Surrounded by his past, he can’t help wondering if Lisa is his future. To answer that question, he just has to keep her alive.

Final crossover….

This author and my love of the Masters and Mercenaries Series was the main reason why I rushed to read this Crossover Collection….overall I have enjoyed the mixing of the different worlds and meeting new, to me, authors along the way, but this book I have kept to the end as a special treat…I was not disappointed..

Remy is a bodyguard for McKay-Taggart..historically he has been one night stand and leave ‘em kind of guy until that is he meets Lisa, who is strong and independant but has got into a spot of bother with her bosses who happen to be the mob… their slow burning relationship is hot and I loved the push and pull between the two characters…

When I started out reading this collection I thought that there would be much more of the M and M world and finally here it is….characters from the series pop in and out and even more pleasing is that the bodyguards and couples from the other crossover books also make an all honesty this book needed to be read last because it does pull everything that comes before it into a neat final epilogue..

As I would expect from the author..this is a skilfully written..enthralling and suspenseful story, which reignited my love for the M and M series and all those who enter the doors of Sanctum..

My new addiction…

This is the second book in this enthralling Prophecy paranormal series; this is a wonderfully constructed story with so many strands; each a separate tale and yet inextricably tied together heading towards some future and, as yet, unknown entwined destiny…

There are romantic undertones within the storyline and there is more than one couple that deserve a happy ever after; the characters are believable and attractive with a magnificent and gifted strong hero and heroine at the centre, and a fascinating supporting cast ……I was so invested in their lives and felt aggrieved, angry and elated alongside them…..the relationships are developing but this is most definitely a slow burner and is ostensibly a classic and epic story about good versus evil and the battle that ensues when these two are fighting for ultimate power….

I love this series…this is paranormal writing at its best; I was captivated with the first book but now I am completely addicted…
