Sinner by Sierra Simone

I’m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be.  I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance.

What do I believe in?  Money.  Sex.  Macallan 18.

They have words for men like me—playboy.  Womanizer.  Skirt chaser.

My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

I had to go to a waiting room so I just picked this one up to take with me… and I could not put it down.

Simon, who has a pretty normal life, and normal friends has yet to tell the world that he’s gay. He has, however, told one person. Blue. Now, of course, that is not his real name. They met online from a post that Blue had posted and Simon commented on. The emailing had began, and is now taking over every thought Simon has.

When Simon forgets to log off the school’s computer one day, the next person to log in sees all the emails and decides to blackmail Simon with them. yep, you guessed it, all hell breaks loose… but not in the way you’re thinking.

A must read for anyone who loves a happy ending… err, no pun intended okay? Simon’s inner thoughts are an absolute gem you need in your life, and really, regardless of how who you love (or don’t) there is a little piece of Simon in all of us (err, that sounds weird too but you know what i mean okay?!) High School is hard at the best of times, but when your person is being threatened and no one knows about the truth it’s a whole lot worse. Humans have a lot to learn still.

Hold On Tight by J. Kenner

2 - February - Hold On Tight

A hard body.  A dangerous past.

Meet Mr. February.

Reality-TV star and reformed bad boy Spencer Dean doesn’t trust women. Not after his fiancée, Brooke, left him at the altar five years ago, breaking his heart and hardening his soul.

Now, Brooke is close to a deal for her own show that will launch with the remodel of a popular Austin bar. The problem? The network insists that Spencer step in as her partner.

He’s tried to forget her—but he can’t deny that he still wants her. More than that, he wants to punish her. And so he agrees, but only on terms that are provocative, demanding, and wildly sensual.

It’s the perfect set-up for extracting revenge. But he doesn’t expect to fall for Brooke all over again…

Revenge never looked so hot.

**Hold On Tight is part of a binge read series by New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and #1 International bestselling author of the million copy Stark series, J. Kenner.

Overlapping with Mr January’s story, here comes Mr February …

Spencer has never wanted for much. His childhood was rough but it was all worth it when Brook Hamlin came into his life. She was his from the moment he pulled off the road to help her change her tire. When she left him, she took his heart with her.

Now that the two are being forced to do this T.V show together – remodeling The Fix while filming the Man of the Month contest – he wants his revenge; She broke his heart, now he’s going to break her… until she looks at him with those big eyes and he sees something new there. Then he’s back to where he was the day she left him.

A raw and heart-racing read, Spencer and Brooke’s story is one you cannot put down. Getting both POV’s, plus the back story of what really happened all those years ago, will pull at your heart strings (and your drawstrings *fans self*). Love, manipulation, and the power one has when you love someone is shown throughout this whole story in many ways. Absolutely breathtaking.

Deviants by Natalie Bennett

Sick bitch

Out of my fucking head.

I’m not broken.

I’m just a little damaged.

I’m stronger now, stronger than I ever knew.

And it’s all because of him.

This is only the beginning but I already know how it’s going to end.

I’ll be claiming my throne and they’ll be buried in the dirt.

Out of my fucking mind

We both know how it’s all going to end.

The blood we shed will stain our hands.

There’s not a warning out there that could prepare anyone for this.

*Deviants is book two in the Badlands series and will conclude Romero and Cali’s story.

The Upside to Being Single by Emma Hart

If anyone asks, I knew better than to flash my boobs for Mardi Gras beads.

I still don’t know why I did it.
Maybe it was the dare from my two best friends.
Maybe it was the guys on the balcony saying they’d throw Fireball shots with the beads.
Or maybe it was the quiet guy in the corner of that same balcony with piercing gray eyes, wavy dark hair, and a smile so tempting I wanted to climb up there and lick it off his face.
Maybe it was because I never thought I’d see them again.
Not that it matters. Not today.
Because the hotel I manage was finally bought—and the guy who walks in and introduces himself as my new boss is Mr. Tall, Dark, and Silent.

There are many upsides to being single.
Your new boss knowing what your boobs look like?
Not one of them.

Sneak peek

Chloe grimaced, turning around to face me. “Does he show up randomly at your house?”
I jumped out of my chair. “Shut up! No!”
She pointed at the door. “There’s a hot guy who just pulled up in an Audi unexpectedly with dark hair, who wears a white shirt the way hookers wear thongs, and has an ass like a giant, ripe peach.”
Three loud knocks sounded at my door.
“Oh God!” I moaned, clutching at my stomach. “I have to hide. Can you stall him?”
Peyton grinned. A shit-eating warning grin.
“Actually, no, never mind,” I whispered harshly. “Peyton, you go out the back, I’ll hide, and Chloe can get rid of him!”
Peyt shook her head. “Not a chance. Who is it?” she added, shouting the last three words.
I clapped my hands over my mouth. Not only was this not a good time because I was still freaking out over the kissing, but we’d not long finished a yoga DVD and I was still sweaty and gross. Not to mention I was pretty sure I’d pulled a muscle.
And the powder. I was covered in donut sugar, okay?
“Uh… It’s Jake,” came the reply through the door.
Peyt waggled her eyebrows. “Jake, eh?”
I glared at her then stuck my middle finger up in her direction. “I hate you.”
The door hinges creaked, and the next thing I knew, Chloe was standing in the door frame. “Hi!” she said in an upbeat tone. “I’m Chloe.” She shoved her hand at him.
“Jake,” he replied slowly, taking her hand. “Is Mellie here?”
“She’s here, but she might be hiding.”
Peyton burst out laughing. My cheeks flamed red, and I stormed across the room and tugged her away from the door.
“Hi. Excuse her. She didn’t take her meds this morning,” I said.
Chloe poked my cheek. “Hello, Mommy. Did you bring me my cookies?”
Peyton, still laughing, stood up. “Okay, Chlo, drop it. Let’s go. We have work to do.”
I spun around as she slipped her laptop into her purse. “And you need to leave to do that? You literally just showed us a penis photo.”
“Your house doesn’t have the right Feng Shui.”
“You’ve never looked up Feng Shui!”
She pointed a finger in my direction. “You don’t know my life!”
Jake blinked between the three of us.
Chloe grabbed hold of her purse and then Peyton’s arm. “We’re going. Call us later, okay?”
Jake moved out of the way while Chloe dragged Peyton out of my house.
“And don’t forget to put your foot down on the kissing thing!” Peyton shouted, eyes sparkling. The last I saw of her was a large, mischievous grin right before Jake shoved the door shut on her.

Peep Show by Isabella Starling

She’s stripping.
I’m watching.
She’s playing.
I’m watching.
She’s mine, I’m coming…

Bebe Hall is a heartbreaker. She’s the it girl of the moment, a partygirl nobody can stop in her path of self destruction. Bebe Hall isn’t the star of her own story.
She’s the star of mine.
My name is Miles O’Reilly. I’m a photographer. An agoraphobic. A millionaire. A womanizer. I’m confined to my apartment. I don’t leave. Ever.
But when she sees me with my latest online conquest in the window of my apartment, my attention shifts to Bebe.
And once I see something I want, I don’t give up until it’s mine.

Peep Show is a 90,000 word novel with themes of voyeurism and dark scenes that may be upsetting to readers. If you are brave enough, come meet Miles. He’s been waiting for you.

Although Isabella Starling has been on my interest list for a while, with Pet taking up a place in a very particular collection on my Kindle, this is actually the first time I’ve ever read her work—largely due to her association with one of my all-time favourite erotica authors, Jade West.

Now, I need to go back and purchase Starling’s entire back catalogue.

For those interested in reading gritty, taboo sex, you’ll want to dust off your vibrator and not load this book on your Kindle until it’s fully charged. Because those batteries willdie before you reach the end.

Not only was I thoroughly impressed with Starling’s writing (both the sensitive, emotional, vulnerable moments and the filthy, stuff-my-knickers-in-my-mouth-and-stick-a-finger-up-my-arse parts), but I actually could not put my Kindle down for the duration of this book. I carried it with me everywhere. I read it on my lunchbreak at work (big mistake, by the way), before I went to bed…in the bath…just everywhere. It feels like it’s been a while since I came across a book that consumed me in such a way. It was raw, decadent, dark, and dirty.

I am absolutely in love with Miles, the perfect combination of male dominance and vulnerability. And what was so good about this read was how Starling made it deeper than pure filth. There was a lot here to think about, a lot of pain to feel. It’s a good author who manages to perfect that balance. There was enough of a plot to not dismiss this as ‘just erotica’, enough of a believable connection between the characters to consider it the most romantic of romances. There wasn’t too much sex, and there wasn’t too much outside plot. It was brilliant.

Starling is certainly one to watch. Like Jade West, she is bringing a new meaning to erotica: both in the no-holds-barred narration and the ability to weave a deep, intriguing story. I’m looking forward to her future releases.

Fallen For Shame by Anna Edwards

Teagan Holland left her old pack under a cloud of prejudice. Her breed, an Asiatic wild dog, considered nothing but vermin. But as the Glacial Blood Pack are about to find out she is one the kindest people they will ever meet. The accident prone dog also has a strength within her that will be needed to help stave off the now homeless Nuka Lincoln’s attempts at revenge. Will she regret taking this job?

Tyler Quinn has been a fighter for the pack since he was eighteen. He is mysterious, and nobody knows that much about why he joined them. All they do know is that he is a fantastic cook and a bit of a computer geek. Behind the man he portrays is a secret that threatens to send him on a path that he thought he had left behind. Will the white powder be his downfall?

Fallen for Shame is the third book in the highly recommended Glacial Blood Series by the author Anna Edwards. It is set in a paranormal world full of drama, suspense and great love affairs. Plus it features a secret that must never be told for fear of the consequences.

A family isn’t always blood; it’s the people that accept you for who you are.

A fabulous, paranormal must read…….

The Glacial Blood Series just goes from strength to strength…this is a fabulously detailed imagined world where shifters and other magical beings exist, unbeknownst to their human counterparts….

The Glacial Blood shifter pack is made up of a group of disparate men and women with varying gifts and talents…Teagan, a wild dog shifter, is a relatively new member. I love her generosity of spirit and positive attitude towards life., not to mention her aptitude for clumsiness which leads to some very funny moments. Tyler, a grey wolf shifter, is attracted to this happy go lucky character but he has demons in his past that are about to be resurrected in the most devastating manner. Tyler is everything a smart, strong, sexy leading man should be until he isn’t….

Fallen For Shame is a really thrilling new addition to this set of paranormal books; I love it when a series continues to tell the ongoing story of the characters previously encountered in earlier installments and this one does exactly that…the members of the pack are a true band of brothers and sisters and their interactions are filled with the camaraderie and loyalty only to be expected of such a close knit company…I loved them all..

This book is full of suspense, humour not to mention plenty of sexual chemistry between Teagan and Tyler which leads to some super hot encounters……set at a perfect pace this is has everything the genre demands and then some… I was given an ARC of this book from the author.
